GBC 20th June Badminton Tournament

📣*Guildford Badminton Club*: *June Tournament* *When*: Saturday, 20th June 2026 *Time*: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm (Registration starts at 8:50 am) *Venue*: Ash Manor Sports Centre, Manor Rd, Ash GU12 6QH *Entry Fee*: £25 per person. Note: For families (married couples or father & son), the second or third family member to enter pays half price. *Tournament Mechanics* This tournament features two main levels, each with Men’s and Women’s Doubles divisions. *Categories and Brackets* * *Social Competitive*: Men’s & Women’s Doubles (Max 12 teams; 2 brackets of 6). * *Open Level*: Men’s & Women’s Doubles (Max 12 teams; 2 brackets of 6). *Tournament Format* All brackets will follow a *single round-robin* format. The top two teams from each bracket will advance to the Semi-Finals. *Match Rules (Eliminations, Semi-Finals, and 3rd Place)* * *Format*: 1 set, race to 35 points. * *No Deuce*: The first team to reach 35 points wins. * *Court Change*: Teams switch ends when one side reaches 18 points. *Championship Match* * *Format*: 1 set, race to 35 points. * *Deuce*: May be played depending on available time (see note below). * *Court Change*: Teams switch ends once a side reaches 18 points. *Semi-Final Matchups* * *Match 1*: Bracket 1 (1st Place) vs. Bracket 2 (2nd Place) * *Match 2*: Bracket 2 (1st Place) vs. Bracket 1 (2nd Place) * _Winners advance to the Championship; losers will compete for 3rd place_. *Prizes and Representation* * *Interclub Selection*: The top 4 finishers in Open Level will represent our club at the Interclub Tournament in London this August 2026. * *Awards*: Trophies will be awarded to every player in the top 4. *Note on Time Constraints*: If time runs short, the scoring for remaining matches may be adjusted to 1 set, race to 21 points, with no deuces. ____________________________ *How to Join:* If you have any questions regarding the tournament, please contact Mark or Macsi(GBC Secretary).
